On April 19th, Glow Cultural Center held a mini-performance highlighting our 4th “Love & Unity in May” concert scheduled for May 18th, Saturday. We enjoyed a deeply moving delivery of Vivian Fang Liu’s original song “Shape of Eyes” with Andy Cong’s contemporary dance, Linda Quach’s “Scarlet Wind,” and a stunning Argentine Tango from Silvana Brizuela Weigel and Michael Castro. Our pre-showcase artists had the chance to speak about their unique artistic roots and shared how art is a way of healing. In addition, we highlighted our continuation of the “Building A Stronger Community” resource fair, which aims to empower attendees to engage with valuable services, as well as helps connect members of our immigrant community with vital resources on topics ranging from public safety to healthcare.

This year’s concert – “Embrace Our Voices” – will showcase a diverse lineup of multidisciplinary artists, spanning from traditional music and dance to contemporary creative expressions, while honoring the many diverse peoples, cultures, and voices that make up the fabric of NYC Queens. Through diverse music, art, and great help from our members of the community, we hope that this event will be a beacon to fostering a greater connection to our own culture and strengthen community bonds. The positive reception and engagement from both press and community members reaffirm our commitment to our mission of promoting and preserving culture and traditions. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, and we look forward to the success of the Love & Unity in May Concert and Resource Fair.
