With the support of NYC City Council, the Glow Community Center is located at One Flushing, providing arts & culture and youth development programs and serving as a hub for community activity. We aim to serve the multi-cultural population of our community, including but not limited to the under-served new immigrant, low-income households residing in Flushing and nearby communities.

On December 8th, GCC hosted a seminar about the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Program. Mental Health First Aid is an eight hour certification training where it teaches you how to help someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis.

2022 Fall Festival Wrap Up
On September 24th, GCC had an immensely successful Annual Fall Festival: thousands of people came from all over New York, enjoying more than four hours of diverse performances, children’s activities, and free giveaways.

On November 19th, we had a new book launch: The Autumn Shanghainese in New York by Wang Huigen & and a Thanksgiving Concert. There were autographed edition of the new book, calligraphy & art exhibition, and live performances.

Army Service Month Career Fair Salute to Veterans
In observance of Veterans Day, Lieutenant Colonel Harold L. Morris Commander of the US Army New York City Recruiting Battalion hosted a Career Fair where distinguished soldiers, veterans, and community members of our local API community shared their army stories and cultural experiences. We learned about how we can serve on Active Duty, Army Reserve, or Commission as an Officer.

On November 12, we had a Former Harvard Interviewer share his experiences and gave us exclusive tips on how to wow university admission staffs. Alex C. is a former Harvard interviewer, former TA for Computer Science at Harvard, and Former College Board SAT Essay grader.

To celebrate Mother’s Day and promote Chinese culture, on May 8th, Chinese Radio Network hosted a “Mother’s Day” Chinese Speech Competition in Flushing, where up to a hundred participants attended and made a speech in Chinese to express their love for their moms.
