WHO WE ARE The Glow Cultural Center (GCC) is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization with a vision to enhance our community by providing a vibrant gathering and events center in the heart of Flushing, NY. Our mission is to enrich community life through educational, cultural and social programs.

Glow Cultural Center is a community-focused organization that offers easily accessible cultural, educational, and social programming for the public. Through strong community ties, devoted volunteers, diverse programs and collaborative partnerships, Glow Cultural Center has built a distinct reputation as a dynamic hub for civic engagement. Conveniently located in downtown Flushing, GCC works with local organizations and government agencies to deliver vital information and resources to the communities we serve, equipping them with necessary tools needed to thrive in our society. In addition, Glow hosts live performances, cultural events, seminars, classes, concerts, and a wide variety of workshops for the many AAPI families, youth, low-income population, and monolingual Chinese-speaking immigrants living and working in our community. We are dedicated to promoting positive cultural exchange and awareness as we strive to enhance community life by being a vibrant gathering place in Flushing.

EVENT HOSTING VENUE

The Glow Cultural Center is an organization with 3500 sq.ft. event space which can be divided into 3 sections, complete with stage lighting, audio/karaoke system, retractable movie screen/high resolution projector, and a grand piano.

Tai Wang

President Board Member Since 2018 //Co-Founder of WAC Lighting

Chairperson Tai Wang started her career as a local business leader with husband, Tony Wang, through their ownership of a local supermarket in Maspeth, Queens in New York City. Her leadership skills grew when she became the Vice President of Finance and Co-Founder of the WAC Lighting Company and helped the company grow into an international industry leader of task and architectural lighting.

Veronica Tsang

Executive Vice President Ms. Veronica Tsang is an Executive Vice President of Cathay Bank. She has been in the banking industry for a long time where she is well thought of because of her deep respect for people and diverse cultures. Her personal experience as an immigrant has led Ms. Tsang to be active in numerous charitable, civic, social and cultural organizations primarily supporting Chinese-American Community.

Liang Ming Director of Programs

Liang Ming is the Director of Programs at the Glow Cultural Center since November 2020. Driven by a passion for GCC’s mission of enriching community life through educational, cultural, and social programs, she initiated diverse programs to promote traditional Asian arts and cultures, raise mental health awareness, and advocate for equality, inclusivity, and harmony in the AAPI community.  Liang is also an advocate for language access in the Flushing community as shown by the promotion and presentation of various cultural expo programs and seminars held at GCC.

Before immigrating to the States, she was a senior administrator and lecturer at Zhejiang University of Technology in China. She brings 15+ years of experience working with youth and young professionals. She has a heart to build the next generation’s confidence by exploring their cultural roots and empowering them through practical service in a real work environment. She is also the President of New York Hanfu Corporation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) cultural hub dedicated to spreading classical Chinese aesthetics through promoting traditional clothing and festivals. She holds a master’s degree in Folklore and has been invited to conduct various workshops on Chinese traditional culture throughout New York City. Springer published the Chinese-English translation of “Myths of the Creation of Chinese” in 2021, where she was among the leading collaborators.

Brooke Yeh Program Coordinator

Brooke Yeh is currently the Program Coordinator and Youth Volunteer Manager at Glow. Her assignments include program content creation, live performance coordination, and volunteer management for the many diverse events and programs offered by GCC. A recent graduate of NYU’s Visual Arts Administration MA program, Brooke is enchanted by the world of art and culture. She is devoted to bringing the potential of art & knowledge to different communities and believes art is the key to overcoming inequality and bigotry.

Chuck Su Program Coordinator

Chuck Su, a native of Anhui, China, holds a master’s degree in international and intercultural communication from St. John’s University. He joined Glow Cultural Center (GCC) in January 2023 as Program Coordinator, where he uses his extensive marketing background to engage the Asian community in Flushing. Chuck’s great passion for the GCC’s mission drives him to promote a wide range of programs, especially on social media, including Mental Health First Aid Training, Feel Good Friday health seminars, self-defense classes, and major events such as the Lunar New Year celebration, AAPI May Concert, Dragon Boat Festival, and Fall Festival. Outside of work, Chuck enjoys exploring the various cuisines and cultures of the Asian community in Flushing, reflecting his love of food and cultural exploration.
